Many people have a story they want to tell the world, but don’t have a clear sense of how to get from mulling over an interesting story idea to actually publishing a book. A Book Development session is the ideal starting point to begin bringing your story to life. We’ll start by working out a clear structure for your book, then establish a manageable writing outline. Once you have a clear sense of your approach, nothing stands in your way of getting your idea drafted, edited and published.
Proofreading & Editing
Structural Editing
With a rough draft ready for red pen, Structural Editing asks writer and editor to read at the project as a complete piece. We’re not looking closely at individual sentences here; we’re approaching your book with a wide view, feeling out the flow of the entire body of writing for continuity, shifting chapters or sections around to ultimately build a stronger story.
Line Editing
Where Structural Editing has us step back and consider the entire text, Line Editing addresses each sentence individually. During Line Editing, word choice is analyzed, fine details are honed down and description is tweaked to add flavor and personality to the story.
Proofreading
Remember how great it felt to catch a textbook mistake in school? During Proofreading, we take a glance at spelling, photos or graphics, captions or diagrams and line breaks to catch those little mistakes that should never make it into print.
